Proposal
Outline
I have created a blog with pieces of information on topics that surround "a visual identity" through either an avatar or through the gaming fashion in general.
Main components
theme functions
Target
The target audience will be professionals that work with fashion, games, or are just interested in what contributes an online identity can give. It is also created to reach normal people/gamers who may have an interest in their online self-expression through an avatar as an identification channel.
Content and recherche
bibliography etc.under a section on the page people collaborating will be mentioned
I'm taking in context form different platforms and angles and incorporate it into the site as base knowledge on the field.
Info from the subject field will come from:
Book - Brand Avatar - Alycia de mesa (2009) – Translating Virtual World Branding into Real World Success.
Book - Media manipulation and disinformation Online - Alice Marwick & Rebecca Lewis (2017) - chapter
Book - The Meaning of dress 3 ed - Kimberly A. Miller-Spillman & Andrew Reilly & Patricia hunt-hunt (2012) - Video game attire.
Content summary
A personal blog/webpage on cases on fashion and online identity trugs avatars in games are expressed and perceived, and how this field of objects is constantly evolving and transforms itself into something new.
I has some sub titles :
Statement, Background, Events, Featured
Mission
I want to show, how people talk about fashion in the gaming industry and the perceived value of an avatar is to both the fashion industry and the gamers themselves.
Slowly building a base on where and when an earlier perceived idea is challenged in a new direction
Web tools
Wix
are the easiest way for me to work around a platform, that has no complications or different layouts when switching from Macintosh to stationary Pc every day
Ancor
is free but awful.
I have now done 3 episodes and lost 45 min of my second first interview by two reasons.
it doesn't tell you that after an hour it will just stop recording if the scene is black on your phone, and secondly, if the interview successfully has been saved and are over an hour-long it will only upload 59:99 min of the recording, the rest is destroyed and can't be saved from anywhere.
Is my main media, when talking about the experience.
on this, I have no problems, and this I why I'm waiting a bit to incorporate it fully onto the site.
Peer evaluation
Effective/ ineffective
The information source
I'm trying to bring an academic angle to an often commercialised product.
But when the site is sort of its fulfilled with blogs in all categories, it will be a melting pot of information from an academic and personal angle, by challenging topics that have a political and commercialised agenda in the industry above.
Graphics
All the pictures on the page are either from Wix themselves so I don't get into copyright problems.
The rest is pictures I have received from the people I have interviewed or pictures from the internet where an URL has been attached to leed you straight back to the source of the picture.
The viewer's role
Is mainly passive, since the articles are outlets of information sources I find relevant to understand the online identity and Game attire topic.
But there is access to a comment box under every article/blog post, and a contact page, where the consumer can request topics to analyse or people join on further episodes of "#theavatarpodcast.
There is too a # created for an Instagram, that has a 3 name at the moment, which is online_digital_identity.. that I'm thinking of either changing into one of the 2 first. (then consumers can tag the product if further interaction is wanted.
Success?
The page
Extremely relevant!
it is looking at some topics that are starting to become even more relevant, then firstly apprehended.
We are aware of the technology always have been the foundation of designing our future. Rather in furniture, architecture and clothing industry, we are bound to the possibilities of our tools.
so what to expect of the designed future, when the tech is almost without limitations and the spere of design areas are melting together?
The podcast
What questions, does the site Raise?
what is my online identity, and can I see a similarity between my own id and some of these cases.
how is the future going to form, and what is happening right now.
am I to be required to form my online identity atm. or can I just be/stay passive
what areas are we to expect further interactions between fashion, online Id and gaming to collab?
